"What's That Star?" (the "App") shows stars and constellations in the night sky based on your current location and time. This policy explains what information the App handles. The developer does not operate servers or user accounts and does not directly collect or store your personal information.
2Information Used
Location (GPS, approximate/precise) — used to compute the positions of constellations in your current sky. Location is used on your device only and is not transmitted to or stored on developer servers.
Camera — used in camera mode to overlay constellations on the live preview. Captured images are not collected by the developer and leave your device only if you choose to "Share" them via your device's sharing feature.
Advertising identifiers and device/usage data — the App shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID), device information, coarse location, and app-usage data to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's policies.
iOS — the App requests tracking permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you decline, non-personalized ads are shown and all features remain available.
EEA/UK, etc. — consent for personalized ads is gathered via Google's UMP consent form.
5Children's Privacy
The App is not primarily directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by your region), and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6Data Retention
The developer does not collect or retain your personal information. Location and camera data are used only transiently on the device. Retention of data collected by AdMob is governed by Google's policies.
7Your Choices
You can revoke the App's location or camera permission in device settings at any time (accuracy may decrease without location).
You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in device settings:
· iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
· Android: Settings > Google > Ads
